FAQs

To be eligible, you must be a low-income immigrant living in Minnesota or North Dakota and have income at or below 187.5% of the federal poverty line. ILCM can only assist with immigration-related cases and cannot help with other legal issues such as housing, family law, public benefits, or employment, nor with non-immigrant visas like student or business visas. Due to limited staff and high demand for services, ILCM may not be able to assist every eligible client. However, we aim to provide high-quality representation to as many people as possible and will refer you to a trusted organization or immigration attorney if we cannot take your case.

We are dedicated to providing quality immigration legal services to low-income immigrants and refugees of all nationalities. Due to high call volume, you may be unable to reach an intake specialist on your first attempt. Please try again another day/time. To find state-wide legal clinics that take walk-ins, visit Law Help MN’s provider search and filter based on “Legal Topics = Immigration” and “Service Type = Clinic.”
